Questions About Centralized City Trash Service Coming in 2018?

The Belton City Council approved an ordinance June 27, 2017, to centralize residential solid waste collection with Jim's Disposal Service beginning January 1, 2018.

Belton pick up days will be either Monday or Tuesday of each week. Days will be assigned by city location. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there has been a delay in trash and recycle cart delivery. For more information, click

Map of Belton showing pick up days

Just a reminder - bulky trash pick up (couches, chairs, etc.) will be scheduled twice a year. The dates are not scheduled yet, but will be forthcoming. DO NOT put these kinds of items out for your weekly trash/recycle pick up. They will only be picked up on our bulky trash pick up days. If you need additional pick ups, please contact Jim's Disposal directly 816.408.0220 and they will bill you directly.

--- We are aware there is information spreading about he carts at Markey Park. Jim's Disposal is using Markey Park to stage all Raymore and Belton carts before delivering them. All of Jim's Disposal carts have chips that are address-specific. Please be aware, there no "self-serving" of carts or self-pick up. The carts will be delivered to residents based on the chip. The Belton Police Department has been informed and will be monitoring the area to ensure security and safety. If you have questions, please call city hall at 816.331.4331. ---

Here is more information about the upcoming changes.
As we receive additional information, it will be posted here.
