Update on trash and recycling cart delivery - 01/08/2018

Update on Centralized Waste Collection Transition

January 8, 2018--Trash and Recycling containers are beginning to be delivered today. The container with the black lid is for trash; the container with the blue lid is for recycling. Please remember, all trash should be bagged (not loose) in the container. Please fill the container first before putting bags on the ground.

December 29, 2017--We are aware there is information spreading about the carts at Markey Park. Jim's Disposal is using Markey Park to stage all Raymore and Belton carts before delivering them. The carts currently at Markey Park belong to Raymore. All of Jim's Disposal carts have chips that are address-specific. Please be aware, there is no "self-serving" of carts or self-pick up.
The carts will be delivered to residents based on the chip. The Belton Police Department has been informed and will be monitoring the area to ensure security and safety. If you have questions, please call city hall at 816.331.4331.

December 22, 2017-- The transition to Jim’s Disposal Service, LLC, as the City of Belton’s single-source residential hauler for solid waste and recycling materials will begin January 1, 2018, as scheduled.

However, due to production delays, Belton residents should expect to receive new trash and recycling carts between January 2 and January 16, 2018.

To compensate for any inconvenience, Jim’s Disposal has agreed to provide residential trash and recycling collection free of charge to Belton customers for the month of January.

Residents are asked to place trash in plastic bags and recyclables in cardboard boxes at the curb, pending delivery of their address-specific carts. Bags may also be placed in private trash cans or carts. All trash must be secured in bags; no loose trash will be collected.

Please monitor the City of Belton’s website and Facebook page for additional updates.

Questions? Please call the City of Belton Centralized Trash Service Help Desk at 816.892.1290. You may also call Christina with Jim’s Disposal at 816.408.0220.
