Steps to Receiving a Business License
All contractors working in the City of Belton are required to obtain a business license before a building permit will be issued. In order to receive a business license, you must:
  1. Fill out the application form
  2. Provide the following documents:
    • A copy of your electrical license, if you are an electrical contractor
    • A current Certificate of Insurance for Workers' Compensation
    • Proof of identification (only one is required)
      1. Driver License
      2. Certificate of Good Standing letter from Secretary of State
      3. Passport
      4. Birth certificate 
      5. Naturalization papers
  3. Pay the $70 license fee, which cannot be prorated

Licensing Year
The licensing year is from July 1 to June 30.
