Planning Projects

Starting Monday, October 28, 2024, all permits, licenses, and planning projects must be submitted through the City of Belton's new online eTRAKiT portal. This new site will allow users to submit applications, schedule inspections, and track internal review and scheduling through their dashboard. This new system will help streamline the permit, project, and license submittal, review, approval, and inspection processes. Additionally, an improved and expanded online payment system will accompany this new site. Please see the following guide for assistance:

When should you submit your application? Review the Planning Commission and Development Review Schedule(PDF, 192KB) and the Board of Zoning Adjustment Schedule(PDF, 101KB).

The Pre-Application Development Review Committee (DRC) coordinates development services for the City of Belton. The DRC is made up of representatives from multiple departments across the City and are here to make the development process as easy as possible. These meetings are required because they offer many benefits to each project and increase the application acceptance rate.

Setting Up A Meeting:

The Pre-Application (DRC) meets weekly on Wednesday's between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. as meetings are requested. Meetings are held in the Belton City Hall Annex at 520 Main Street, Belton, Missouri.  To apply, an account will need to be created in ETRAKit and applied for under "Projects".

Apply for a Pre-App Meeting

The completed application with any supporting documentation, is required to be completed by Friday at 2:00 p.m., prior to the Wednesday you wish to meet. Following the submittal of your application and supporting documentation, an appointment time will be confirmed.
