Planning Commission

Public hearings give applicants, residents, and other interested parties the opportunity to review project applications and provide comments to staff and the designated Board/Commission reviewing the application. A public hearing is required to be held by the Planning Commission for the following applications: rezoning, special use permit, preliminary development plan, and vacation. A public hearing is required to be held by the Board of Zoning Adjustment for applications for variances. Meeting agendas for Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment will indicate if an application will have a public hearing and the order of the public hearing on the agenda.

Upcoming public hearings include the following applications:  

Tuesday, May 7, 2024 Planning Commission meeting (6:00 PM, 520 Main St. - City Hall Annex)

  • An application submitted by Elevate Design + Build to approve a Rezoning to R-2/PUD (Two-Family/Planned Unit Development) and Preliminary Development Plan for the The View, a proposed residential development with 11 single-family houses with central amenity space on the north side of 2nd Street between Hackberry and Hershel Streets. (This application has been revised based on revision requests made by the Planning Commission on April 2, 2024).

Upcoming Neighborhood Meetings:

  • Residents and interested parties are invited to attend a neighborhood meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the City Hall Annex (520 Main St.) with city staff and NorthPoint Development on a proposed project (to be known as “Southview Residential”) between 155th St and 157th St, West of White Dr. (formerly "Sunset Hills 3rd Plat") The proposed development includes the construction of 41 single-family homes and a trail connection.
