Annual Budget book receives national recognition for design

The City of Belton’s marketing and communications team was awarded Gold by the international Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals for its Fiscal Year 2025 budget design.
The award recognizes the innovative and unique design approached for this year budget book by Marketing & Communications Specialist Charlie Duber.
“The budget is so much more than just a financial tool,” Assistant City Manager Mike Ekey said. “It is one of the best ways to transparently show residents how we are using their tax dollars to bring them vital city services.”
The budget book design started in the winter of 2023 and was finalized and adopted by the City Council in March 2024. The new budget book design is just one the major improvements to City communications since the City hired its first full-time communications and marketing professional in 2023.
