We Welcome Matt Wright as Director of Community Planning & Building

Prior to joining the City of Belton, Matt spent seven years with the City of Blue Springs, Missouri serving as the Associate Planner, Senior Planner, and most recently, the Assistant Director of Community Development. Prior to that, he was a Planner for the City of Joplin, Missouri for two years.

Matt received his bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning & Design from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his master’s in Urban Planning from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

Matt was raised in Belton and is a Belton High School graduate. (Go Pirates!)
