City of Belton approves new Avid Hotel by IHG
95-room hotel will launch new brand in the Kansas City market
BELTON, MO—February 5, 2019 – The City of Belton has approved development plans for a 95- room Avid Hotel by Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG). Located on the north side of 58 Highway just west of Markey Parkway, the four-story hotel is expected to be the first Avid concept to open in the Kansas City area.
Liberty Hotel Group will begin construction by the end of the year on the hotel project with a targeted opening by the end of 2020. The facility will include guest amenities such as a fitness room and “grab-and-go” lobby breakfast.
“It is exciting that Belton will be home to the region’s first Avid Hotel,” said Carolyn Yatsook, Belton director of economic development. “We consider this a vote of confidence in the future of Belton as we continue to add new businesses and residents.”
IHG opened its first Avid hotel in Oklahoma City in the fall of 2018. According to the brand’s website, Avid Hotels are designed for travelers who want a hotel stay that finally meets their expectations for the type of hospitality they value most—the basics done exceptionally well—at
a fair price.
Genesis Construction Management is the project’s General Contractor; B+A Architecture is the architect of record; and Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting is the civil engineer. For more information:
